CAPE BOOKMAKERS GO THE EXTRA MILE

The Western Cape Bookmakers will be adding some spice to the ‘stayer’ races during the Sizzling Summer Season, through the offering of bonuses to the connections of competing horses.

Points will be awarded to horses finishing in the first four places in each of the following races:

The Durbanville Cup – 3 200m – Tuesday, 27 November 2007

The WCBA Summer Stayers Handicap – 2 500m – Sunday, 23 December 2007

The J&B Reserve Stayers Handicap – 2 800m – Saturday, 26 January 2008

First prize - R30 000 in betting vouchers (sponsored by Betting World and Hollywood Sportsbook)

Second prize - R10 000 in betting vouchers (sponsored by Betting World and Hollywood Sportsbook)

Third prize - R5 000 in betting vouchers (sponsored by Interbet)

In addition, a cash amount of R200 000 is offered to the connections of any horse which manages to win all three legs.

On 23 December 2007 - the Western Cape Bookmaker’s Association Summer Stayers Handicap raceday – the on-course bookmakers will be doing lucky draws, with R20 000 in betting vouchers up for grabs.
