The

Ice Cube has not run since his game win in the Premier Champion
Juvenile Stakes in July. Amongst
his competition is the Argentinian group one winner, Little Jim and Mike
de Kock representative, unbeaten Lundy’s Liability. The Al
Kurdi yard, successful in the Maktoum Challenge last week, is
represented by four runners, including the Italian Group Three winner,
Clifden and the smart Prince of Denmark, a winner of his last two starts
including a three and half length beating of Song of Tara, whom he meets
again here. Godolphin
field two, Rosencrans, to be ridden by Frankie Dettori and Sutter’s
Fort. Mark Johnston, who has a formidable team of three year olds, will
be represented by the promising Kris S colt, Carte Sauvage. Two
races earlier at 18:15 - South African time, National Currency makes his
Dubai debut. The colt appears in the six furlong Al Shindagha Sprint and
will be partnered by Weichong Mawing. He does
face a useful field which includes Jersey Stakes hero, Membership, the
former Godolphin smart sprinter, Three Points and useful Aramram.
National Currency’s second to Silent Witness was given a boost by the
latter’s impressive win in the Bahuinia Sprint Trophy on Sunday. Champion
older female, Special Parade runs in the fourth race, a mile race on
turf. She takes on high class St Expedit, a dual winner of the Ormonde
Stakes, the smart Wizard of Noz and the high class Mick Channon trained
filly, Londonnetdotcom. The final Woodruff trained star to appear is champion stayer, Fantastic Horse. The latter runs in the last race, to be run over 12 furlongs on turf. He carries top weight and is the sole group/graded race winner in the 12 horse field. |
