The
colt will stand at Litchfield Stud in Robertson and will be the third
son of Al Mufti to retire to stud following classic winners Captain Al
and The Sheik. Arguably
his best run came in defeat. He ran a gallant and luckless fifth in
the Group One Eclipse Stakes behind the likes of Falbrav and Nayef
when beaten under three lengths. On that occasion Victory Moon had the
likes of Breeders Cup winner Islington, multiple Group One winner
Grandera and champion Hold That Tiger well behind him. Victory
Moon, who has not run since Ascot last August, will probably run in
two legs of the Maktoum Challenge before competing in the world’s
richest race. A half brother to champion stayer Kelly, Victory Moon’s granddam is a full sister to the dam of Met winner, Imperious Sue. He has won five races to date and is a warm favourite to take the first leg of the Maktoum Challenge. |
