The KwaZulu-Natal Chapter of Gold Circle is proud to announce a major bonanza for owners and trainers in KwaZulu-Natal. Chapter Chairman Mr. Bill Lambert said owners and trainers in the province will benefit from a massive R4-million in cost savings annually from February. "We are excited that the introduction of these savings will contribute to the Chapter's key objectives of: maximising stakes, reducing administration and optimising trainers' and owners' costs." He said that the cost savings were approved by Gold Circle's Board of Directors late last year. The massive savings to the owners and trainers will come from a reduction in stable rentals and the scrapping of acceptance fees for races of A division class and lower. With effect from 1 February 2006, monthly stable rentals will be reduced by in excess of 50%, from R185 a box to just R90 a month per box. From that day on, owners will no longer have to pay acceptance fees for any minor races in the province. In addition to initiating these savings, the KZN Chapter will also be increasing the stake of maiden races in the province by R2000 a race from 1 February, 2006, an additional incentive for owners to race in KZN. With the increase in stakes in October last year and these new initiatives, owners and trainers in KwaZulu-Natal will enjoy a massive R6,5 million bonus that will make their racing experience on the East Coast that much more exciting and cost effective. KwaZulu-Natal is the Racing Capital of Africa. The latest bonanza strengthens its claim to being the province of choice for racehorse owners and trainers.
