Kris Kin, who won the Epsom Derby this year, has been retired to stud. The chestnut will stand at Derrinstown Stud next year. He will stand his first season at 8,000 euros.

Kris Kin gave trainer Sir Michael Stoute his third win in the Epsom Classic. Coming off a win in the Dee Stakes, the colt defeated The Great Gatsby with the top notch Alamshar in third.

His next start saw Alamshar reverse the form handsomely when winning the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Stakes by four lengths from Sulamani. Kris Kin ran third, defeating the likes of Falbrav and Nayef.

Kris Kin then ran third to subsequent Arc hero, Dalakhani in the Group two Prix Niel. His final start saw him finish unplaced in the Arc itself. He retires with three wins in seven starts.

A son of outstanding sire, Kris S - whose been enjoying a vintage year with the likes of Grade one winners Whitmore's Conn and Kicken Kris - Kris Kin is out of Group two winner Angel In My Heart. His dam is a half sister to Prix de Salamandre winner Common Grounds, a successful sire. He hails from the family of champion Brazilian sire Ghadeer and outstanding broodmare Lucayan Princess.
