The Emirates Racing Association Awards were held in Dubai on Saturday. Godolphin and recently retired Ipi Tombe were the main honorees.

Ipi Tombe, unbeaten in three starts in Dubai, was named Nashwan Thoroughbred Horse of the Year. The daughter of Manshood had her greatest success when defeating Paolini in the Dubai Duty Free Stakes on World Cup night.

Godolphin were named the Nashwan Thoroughbred Owner of the Year, having sent out ten winners from 42 runners during the UAE season. Godolphin’s trainer Saeed bin Suroor was presented with the Nashwan Award for Thoroughbred Trainer of the Year.

Godolphin Racing Manager, Simon Crisford, has stated Vespone is the most likely candidate to run in the J&B Met. The grandson of Dahlia was a disappointment in the Champion Stakes on his last start when finishing last. Crisford said a decision on Vespone’s participation in the Met will be taken at the end of December.
