The top performers among Kwazulu-Natal's thoroughbred population will be honoured at the annual KwaZulu-Natal Awards banquet to be held at Greyville Racecourse in Durban on Thursday, 24 August 2006 at 19:00.
The black-tie function is one of the highlights of racing's social calendar and includes a number of other awards for contributions to the industry in the province.
Because there are several satellite yards in the KwaZulu-Natal attached to stables based in other provinces, Gold Circle Racing has introduced specific qualifying criteria for horses from those yards.
To qualify for nomination, horses must either be from KwaZulu-Natal yards or, if from a satellite yard, a horse must have run more than 50% of its races during the season in KwaZulu-Natal . Two-year-olds from satellite yards do not qualify.
The nominations for the various categories of awards are:
