NEW MEMBERS OF THE BOARD

Gold Circle is pleased to announce the appointment of new members to the Board of the KwaZulu-Natal Chapter, which effectively oversees the organising and management of horseracing in the province. The new Stewards are Durban businessman Prince Sifiso Zulu and Chatsworth family practitioner Dr Kellar Moodley, with Mr Lucky Moloi being appointed for a second term. Their appointment makes the Board the most representative it has ever been in the history of horseracing, and is a further step in Gold Circle’s wide ranging transformation initiatives.

Managing Director, Mr David Furness, said: "The appointment of these gentlemen to the Board of the Chapter is a reflection of Gold Circle’s initiatives to continually strive to balance the demographic profile of the Company. Participation in the racing industry draws people from all walks of life, covering the full demographic spectrum, and we are delighted to welcome Kellar, Lucky and Sifiso to the Board."

Chairman, Mr Bill Lambert, added: "As the Chairman of the Chapter, I am very excited that we have taken another major step forward by appointing to our Board, Prince Sifiso Zulu, Dr K V Moodley and Mr Lucky Moloi. I am sure that all three will bring considerable expertise to the deliberations of the Board.

Prince Sifiso Zulu is a business consultant to the public and private sector and has been involved in projects for the Office of the President, the Department of Public Enterprises and the National Department of Public Works, and the European Aeronautical Defence and Space Company. He is a director of several companies and is Chairman of Emtateni Freight Plus, a leading BEE clearing and forwarding company. Further, Prince Zulu is vice-president of the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a patron of Life Line and Trustee of the South African Endangered Species Protection Trust.

Dr Kellar Moodley is the Chairman of the ANC Chatsworth sub-region. He has been in family practice in partnership with his wife, Dr Leila Moodley, for 25 years. Kellar serves on the Boards of several empowerment companies with interests in the property and retail food sectors. He is also on the executive committees of several Community Based Organisations, including the Greater Chatsworth HIV/Aids Forum, the Durban South Doctors’ Guild, and community Trusts.

Lucky Moloi is the Executive Chairman and Managing Director of the Moloi Interface Group of Companies, covering disciplines of consulting through to property development. The latest major property development was the Northway Mall in Pietermaritzburg. He is Leader of the KZN Congress of Chamber of Commerce and is an immediate Past President of the Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Commerce and currently holds the office of Deputy President of the Chamber.
