In view of the postponement of this year's J & B Met from Saturday 31 January to Saturday 3 April, a race meeting will be held on Sunday 1 February at Clairwood Racecourse in Durban. The eight-race programme includes the second leg of three-part R500 000 KZN Sires Series, a Merit Rated Handicap over 1600 metres for all horses bred by sires domiciled in KwaZulu-Natal. The first leg over 1200 metres was won by the three-year-old filly Texan Summer at Scottsville Racecourse on 11 January. The third leg will be run over 2000 metres at Greyville Racecourse on Friday 27 February. If Texan Summer is nominated for the remaining two legs - and wins both - she will earn a R200 000 bonus.
