SIX CROWNS (Secretariat), the dam of champion Chief's Crown, was
euthanized Thursday because of old age. The 26-year-old mare will be
buried at Three Chimneys Farm near Midway, Kentucky. Bred by Carl Rosen

running of the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) in 1984, as well as that
year's Norfolk S. (G1), Hopeful S. (G1) and Cowdin S. (G1), earning
Eclipse honors as champion juvenile. As a three-year-old, Chief's Crown
captured the Travers S. (G1), Blue Grass S. (G1) and Flamingo S. (G1).
A son of Danzig, Chief's Crown placed in all three Triple Crown
