STORM CAT

Recent North American racing has been dominated by Storm Cat and his sons. Storm Cat, widely regarded as the best active stallion in the world, was represented yesterday by the unbeaten After Market. The latter won his fourth consecutive race when he landed the National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame Stakes (Gr2) by over two lengths. The colt is out of top-class mare Tranquility Lake (Rahy) and is an own brother to a $9.7 million yearling.

This cross of Storm Cat on Rahy mares has had plenty of success ie Giant's Causeway and Sophisticat and her brother Grand Reward. Art Market has now won two graded stakes races in his four starts.

Storm Cat's top-class son Bluegrass Cat turned Sunday's Haskell Invitational (Gr1) into a procession when beating graded stakes winners Praying for Cash and Strong Contender by over seven lengths. The Pletcher trained colt is now a probable starter for the Travers. The Travers could see a fascinating contest with Bluegrass Cat taking on the brilliant Bernardini.

The day before Untouched Talent, an unbeaten daughter of Storm Cat, played with her opposition to land the Sorrento Stakes (Gr3). Like Bluegrass Cat she is out of a mare by A P Indy.
