Successful sire, Alzao, has been retired from stud duties due to the infirmities of old age. He is 26.
Winner of the GP3 Premio Ellington, Alzao was acknowledged to be Lyphard's most successful son at stud, outperforming the likes of Manila, Dancing Brave and Monteverdi.

Alzao is the sire of over 100 stakes winners to date including GP1 winners Alborado (dam of Alado), Second Set, Pass The Peace, Alcando, Alpride, Waky Nao, Albanova and last year's Prix Royal Oak winner Alcazar.

Although none of his sons have proved successful, Alzao's daughters have done extremely well. The likes of Embassy, Bollin Eric, Deep Impact. Veil of Avalon, Torreador and Relaxed Gesture are all out of daughters of Alzao.
