Jerry Bailey will retire follow the Sunshine Millions at the end of the month.
Bailey, winner of the Eclipse Award as outstanding jockey seven times, is the second all time leading jockey on the earnings list for North America.
Bailey has won a record 15 Breeders Cup races and has rode winners of all three legs of the US Triple Crown. He twice won the Kentucky Derby on Sea Hero (1993) and Grindstone (1996) and landed both the Preakness and Belmont on Hansel in 1991.
Bailey also won the first two runnings of the Dubai World Cup on Cigar (1996) and Singspiel (1997). He won the race a total of four times in just ten years.
He partnered some of the great contemporary horses such as Skip Away, Dubai Millennium, and the mighty Cigar. He also rode likely 05 Horse of the Year, Saint Liam, to victories in his final two starts.
A member of Racing's Hall of Fame, Bailey has won over 4,600 races so far.
He is currently the president of the Jockeys Guild.
