The Canon Gold Cup, to be run on Saturday, August 4, is
known for its elegance, and style. . . not too much flesh
and much more about sophistication. That doesn’t mean
however that you can’t have fun with this year’s “Bold and
Gold” theme.
The theme is based on international fashion predictions that
bold patterns will make a huge come back. Add to this the
appeal of gold and all things metallic and we are sure to
see the imagination of decorators, designers and
fashionistas stretched to the limit.
So …. what do you think 12 local fashion designers would
create to satisfy the requirements of this theme? Watch as
they go bold in their search for gold in the Designer
Fashion Competition. They will be competing for prizes as
follows: -
First - R5000 with the compliments of Gold Circle plus a
Canon A450 Digital Camera plus printer valued at R2500.
Second prize will be R2000 and third will receive R1000.
Two other competitions are open to anyone who has a flair
for fashion and who wants to be bold.
The Best Dressed Person will receive R3000 from Gold Circle,
a Motorola MOTOKRZR K1 cell phone and a Vodacom Starter Pack
and a Canon A450 Digital Camera plus printer.
The prize for the Most Striking Couple is truly spectacular
– a two-night weekend stay at the Royal Livingstone Hotel
in Zambia with the compliments of Sun International
including airfares ex Johannesburg, meal allowance and one
activity per person, R3000 from Gold Circle and a Canon A450
Digital Camera plus printer.
To enter all you have to do is congregate in front of the
stage area from 11h00 on raceday in order to try and catch
the eye of the judges.
