South Africa will be standing Medaaly for the upcoming breeding season. The son of Highest Honor has been sold by Darley Stud. It is unknown just yet where he will stand.

One of the best two year olds of his year, Medaaly won the group one Racing Post Trophy defeating subsequent Epsom Derby hero, Benny The Dip, into third place in the prestigious Doncaster feature. He made just one start at three when unplaced in the Dante Stakes behind Benny The Dip and was retired to stud. He won three of six starts, running second on debut.

Medaaly was the leading freshman sire in France in 2002. He has yet to be represented by a stakes winner.

His sire, Highest Honor, is a multiple champion sire in France and has been represented by other group/ grade one winners in Admise, Sagacity, Reve D'oscar and Marotta. He was a top class racehorse, winning the group one Prix d'Isaphan and running second in the French 2000 Guineas.

His dam is the Sadler's Wells mare, Dance of Leaves. She is a full sister to Fort Wood. Medaaly is a half brother to Queen Anne Stakes hero Charnwood Forest. He is the fourth horse in this immediate family to come to South Africa following Martinelli, Fort Wood and shuttle sire, Kabool.
