DERBY NEXT FOR STORM IN MAY

Storm In May, who is coming off a second place in the Arkansas Derby (Gr2), will be pointed towards the Kentucky Derby.
The grey Tiger Ridge colt, who previously won the Sunshine Millions Dash, has plenty to find with ruling Derby favourite Curlin, but his trainer, Bill Kaplan, feels the colt has earned his chance to run at Churchill Downs. Storm In May is blind in his right eye - but this has been no impediment to his success. He has won four of his 13 starts and just under half a million dollars. His biggest win to date came in the Sunshine Millions Dash and he has been placed in three graded races.

The Kentucky Derby, which will be run on May 5th, looks to be an extremely open race this year, although Curlin looks a worthy favourite. He will stiff opposition from the likes of Nobiz Like Shobiz, Scat Daddy, Circular Quay and Tiago - a half-brother to former Derby winner Giacomo.
