DISCREET CAT TO STUD
By Sarah Whitelaw

The brilliant Discreet Cat has been retired to stud following his disappointing run in the Breeders Cup Mile Dirt. He will stand for a fee of US $30,000 in his first season. Out of the Gr1 winning mare Pretty Discreet, his sire Forestry is the sire of this season's brilliant two-year-old colt Etched.

The son of Forestry won his first six starts in devastating fashion, but lost all of his last three. Purchased by Godolphin following his maiden win, the striking bay wins included easy wins in the UAE Derby, beating champion Invasor, and Jerome Handicap.
Arguably his most impressive win came in the Cigar Mile (Gr1), where he defeated some outstanding older horses, like Badge of Silver, Silver Train and Dixie Meister.
From the family of successful sires With Approval and Touch Gold, Discreet Cat is the only horse to win a race over the mighty Invasor.
