Both the French Guineas winners are closely related to two South African sires. Unraced Danzig horse, Alado, is a three parts brother to Aussie Rules (Danehill) who won the French 2000 Guineas on Sunday.
The 1000 Guineas was controversial with the first place finisher Price Tag being disqualified and placed third. The promoted winner Tie Black (Machiavellian) is a granddaughter of blue hen mare Mill Princess (dam of Last Tycoon) whilst Firebolt's sire Rabah is a grandson of Mill Princess.
