Silent Witness, who goes for his seventeenth straight win on Sunday,
may take on American Horse of the Year Ghostzapper.
Archie da Silva, the owner of Silent Witness, has been approached
for a $3 million match race between two of horse racing's biggest
names. Silent Witness' old nemesis, the tough Cape of Good Hope
recently won the Grade One Australia Stakes.
Ghostzapper, who has been ill, has yet to start this year and
is being aimed at the Met Mile. The son of Awesome Again has
lost just twice in his career and ended his season last year
with a romp in the Breeders Cup Classic.
Second that day, Roses in May, stormed home in the World Cup,
while Saint Liam, a narrow second to Ghostzapper in the Woodward,
won the Donn Handicap.
