INGLIS AUSTRALIAN EASTER SALE

Inglis holds its annual Australian Easter Sale over the 10th-12th of April. The sale offers 588 yearlings, and is divided into three sessions.

Reining champion sire, Redoute's Choice, has no less than 72 choicely bred lots on sale. One of the most exciting looks to be lot 202, an own brother to champion filly Miss Finland. Lot 563 is a half-brother to two Gp1 winners, including former Hong Kong star Fairy King Prawn. Lot is a half-brother to another flagbearer in Hong Kong - Derby victress Elegant Fashion. Lot 412 should hold attract attention from South Africans, he is a three-parts brother to former champion Laisserfaire. The smart South African racemare Lady's Delight has a filly on offer, whilst Urge to Merge (dam of Suntagonal) is represented by lot 570, a bay colt.
Champion race mare Tycoon Lil has a brown daughter of the champion of offer which should prove popular.
There are also half-siblings to the group winners Dandify, Blackfriars, Just Dancing and Grand Delight on offer.


Encosta de Lago has recently joined the list of reverse shuttlers. The son of Fairy King is represented here by 46 yearlings. Lot 138 is a colt out of Cox Plate winner Dane Ripper, whilst Lot 58 is a son of another top-class galloper Ateates. Lot 564 is a half-brother to recent stakes winner Murjana. This is the family of Redoute's Choice. Lot 524 is a daughter of the outstanding broodmare Subterfuge, dam of three group winners including top-class Hong Kong performer Scintillation.
Lot 417 is a beautifully bred filly, being out of a close relative of champion Rock of Gibraltar. The choice of the Encostas looks to be however, the own sister to champion Alinghi - lot 372. Other high-class mares with Encosta de Lago yearlings include Gp1 winners Larrocha, Shower of Roses and Hasna.

Zabeel proves his worth with a consistent string of classy performers. He has 20 yearlings on sale. Lot 140 should be much sought after - out of Gp1 winner Danedri, he is bred on the same cross as outstanding gallopers Vengeance of Rain and Darci Brahma. The first lot to come up for sale is a colt out of a Warning mare, who is a descendant of Attica -the dam of Sir Ivor. This colt is thus intensely inbred to Attica. Lot 155 is a filly, her dam is a half-sister to top SA performer Double Reef.
Lot 19 is out of the Gp1 winner Zola - a daughter of champion sire Volksraad. Another top racemare represented by a Zabeel offspring on this sale. Derby victress Honor Lap has a colt.

Red Ransom is one of the world's leading sires, he gets both colts and fillies to run. He is represented by 40 youngsters. His colt out of South African Gp1 winner Sydney's Dream is an own brother to Gp1 winner and sire Charge Forward. Lot 541 is a filly out of the fast Bletchingly mare Tennessee Morn, she a daughter of another multiple stakes winner, Tennessee Vain. Lot 237 is colt out of multiple Gp1 winner Hill of Grace (a daughter of Zabeel). The standout offering here is lot 561, a filly out of Tugela. She is a half-sister to Makybe Diva. Lot 500 is a half-sister to the lightning fast Snowland.

Galileo is one of the most sought sires in the world at the moment. He has only 13 on sale here. Lot 20 is out of Gp2 winner A Star Affair - who is a half-sister to champion The Jewel. Lot 56 is out of 16 time winner Asian Incline. Lot 296 is a colt out of a Last Tycoon mare, whose granddam is Oaks winner Lupe. Lot 421 is a half-brother to stakes winner Walk Alone. Lot 359 is out of Oaks winner Mystic Chantry. Lot 466 is a half-brother to an Argentinian Gp2 winner from the great Vagrancy family. Lot 69 is a filly from the immediate family of Discover Diamonds and her Gold Cup winning son Diamond Quest.

Danehill Dancer has been enjoying enormous success since retiring to stud. He is represented by just eight here and they should be well sought after, as a result of the fine run he is enjoying. Lot 3 is a three parts brother to Hong Kong Gp1 winner Jeune King Prawn. Lot 110 is a half brother to two Gp winners and from the family of Gp1 winner Super Tai. Lot 507 is an own sister to the multiple stakes winner Lieutenant.

Rock of Gibraltar is one of the leading first season sires in both Australia and the UK. His son Mount Nelson is one of the leading fancies for the Epsom Derby this year, whilst his son Murtajwill ran fourth in the recent Golden Slipper. He is the sire of 26 yearlings here, the highlight of which looks to be lot 270, a three parts brother to the recently retired Holy Roman Emperor. Lot 50 is a half-brother to dual Oaks winner Episode. Lot 262 is a colt from the family of Super Quercus, South African champion Kimberley Mine and the infamous Snaafi Dancer. Lot 310 is a filly out of the classic placed mare Madonna, and lot 442 is out of the Gp1 winner Royal Purler.

Another Danehill horse to be making waves is former Slipper winner Flying Spur. He has 19 lots. Lot 527, out of a Sunday Silence mare, is a three parts sister to stakes winner El Daana. This is the family of South African Gp1 winner Savannah Queen and Follow The Falcoln. Lot 419 is a half-sister to two stakes winners, including top South African sprinter Hurricane Queen. Lot 578 is a brother to group winner Jet Spur, has just retired to stud where he is proving very popular. This is the family of successful sire Zeditave and South African champion Greys Inn. Lot 513 is a filly out of a stakes winning Dehere mare - this being the same cross as Slipper winner Forensics.

One of Australia's most popular sires is More Than Ready. He has just three on sale. The pick on pedigree looks to be lot 215, a filly out of a half-sister to the Gp1 performers Gold Guru and Gallant Guru. Interestingly enough all of the More Than Readys are fillies.

Reset was unbeaten on the racetrack and this is his first crop.
He has 14 yearlings up for sale, ten colts and four fillies.
Lot 562 is out of the Oaks winner Tully Thunder, a daughter of champion sire Thunder Gulch. Lot 569, is a colt out of the 16 time winner Ultra Sound - and is a half brother to champion filly Tartan Tights. Lot 78 is a colt, whose dam is a winning half-sister to champion Marauding -sire of Hong Kong star Absolute Champion. Lot 526 is a half brother to top-class filly Sky Cuddle, who won the Gp1 Emirates Stakes. Lot 353 is out of a three parts sister to Gp winner Far Lane from the family of young SA sire Way West.

Anabaa is a consistently successful sire in Australia and Europe. He is now based in North America, but continues to shuttle to Australia. He has 26 up for sale here. Anabaa is a versatile sire, despite being a champion sprinter he has sired two Derby winners.
Lot 163 is out of a half-sister to Breeders Cup Mile runner up Fastness, lot 205 is a half sister to South African sire Fanatic Dane. Lot 217 is one of the sales' standouts on pedigrees - the colt is out of champion racemare Grand Archway. The latter has already bred a stakes winner and the colt should be popular. Lot 222, is a half-sister to an eight time winner, and is a great granddaughter of blue hen Cotehele House. This is the famous Eight Carat family. Lot 246 is a half brother to 2 group winners and five other winners. Lot 250 has plenty of paddock value, being a half sister to Gp1 winner Spinning Hill. This is also a noticeable sire strike. Lot 286 is a three parts brother to Gp1 winner Cheeky Choice, while lot 579 is out of the versatile mare, Vestey -a daughter of outstanding broodmare sire Last Tycoon.

Dubai Destination has made a striking start to his stud career, with his first runner being his first winner. He has seven yearlings here, four colts and three fillies. Lot 104 is a bay colt out of high class stayer Celestial Show, a winner of seven races. Lot 401, a filly with plenty of paddock value, is the fourth foal of Gp1 winner Porto Roca, a half-sister to another Gp1 winner Bluebird the Word. Lot 165 is out of the Gp3 placed Danehill mare Dubai Ice, whose dam is the top-class racemare and broodmare Skating. Dubai Ice is a three parts sister to brilliant two-year-old Murtajill. Lot 378 is out of a stakes winning daughter of Flying Spur.

Pins is one of the best sires standing in New Zealand currently. He is represented by just four lots, three of them colts. His sole filly is out of the high-class Sky Chase mare Elegance, winner of the Gp3 Cuddle Stakes. Lot 189 is a colt out of a stakes placed six time winner from the family of top sprinter Glamour Puss. Lot 370 is a half brother to Gp placed Be Delicious and out of a daughter of Courtza. The pick should be lot 384 - a full brother to outstanding galloper El Segundo.

Choisir has gotten off to a flying start at stud. He is the sire of nine yearlings on this sale, just two fillies represented. Lot 231 promises to have plenty of paddock value. She is a filly out of an own sister to top-class stayers St Reims and Champagne. This is the famous Bourtai family. Lot 210 is a colt from the family of Elvstroem and his group one winning half brother Hardasrun. Lot 175 is out of a daughter of Gp1 winner Chlorophyll, whilst lot 145 is a colt out of a group winning granddaughter of outstanding sprinter Special. The first Choisir to come up for sale is lot 45, a three part sister to Guineas winner God's Own.

Pentire is one of the best sires in New Zealand. He is represented by two colts here, lot 124 being a three parts brother to Gp1 winner Pentastic. This is the outstanding Denise's Joy family, which has done so well in Australasia. Lot 180 is a full brother to champion Xcellent, who was a good third in the Melbourne Cup.

Montjeu has not achieved the same level of success in the Southern Hemisphere as he has in the North. He has still sired a number of smart sorts, however. The shrewd buyer could pick up a bargain with his popularity on the wane. He has four colts and a filly for sale. Lot 385 is out of a stakes placed mare by the leading broodmare sire Crafty Prospector from the family of the late champion Itsallgreektome. Lot 206 is a colt out of a daughter of outstanding broodmare Field Nymph. Lot 168 is a three parts brother to the smart South African stayer Wise Son.

Another sire with a big reputation in the Northern Hemisphere is Giant's Causeway. The son of Storm Cat has also not done as well in Australasia as elsewhere. He has 15 lots here, 10 colts and five fillies. Lot 487 is a colt out of SAJC Derby victress Showella. Another classic winner to offer a Giant's Causeway colt here is Mon Mekki, winner of the Queensland Oaks. Lizard Island's half sister Marigot Bay has a nicely bred colt here. He is intensely inbred to Crimson Saint. Lighting fast filly Miss Kournikova has a filly, lot 334, here. Lot 454 is one of the best bred colts on offer, hailing from the immediate family of Redoute's Choice, El Gran Senor and brilliant US filly Rags to Riches. Lot 15 is a son of stakes winning Zabeel mare Zalinda, who is a daughter of Railway Handicap (Gp1) winner Alynda.

Other leading sires represented by yearlings on this sale include Danzero (18), Dehere (14 ), Elusive Quality (22), Stravinsky (14), Octagonal(1) and Fusaichi Pegasus(30).

Popular first season sires to be represented include world champion Falbrav, Lucky Owners, Exceed and Excel and Lonhro.
