DUNFORD - ran a 120 FMR. Well drawn, well handicapped and given a copybook ride to take line honours. Waited in reserve midfield on rail. Quickened readily when given the office at the subway. Forged to the lead inside final 100 metres to win fully extended.
SILVERPOINT - ran a 124 FMR. Ideally positioned in box seat on rail on heels of the pacemaker; looked possible winner when taking command in stretch; fought on well but was unable to repell the winner's determined bid. Classy run by 3-Y-O. Top-class ride.
EVENTUAIL - ran a 131 FMR. Line honours to Dunford, but run-of-the-race honours to this grand 6-Y-O. Given a masterful ride; dropped to rear to save ground on the turn; put in a tremendous run down the outside, but was held safe at the weights.
REVEILLE BOY - ran a 115 FMR. Bumped around racing wide in first 500 metres; caught 3 wide throughout; stayed on gamely but had lost his race on the turn.
IRRIDESCENCE - ran a 124 FMR. Tremendous run by 3-Y-O Filly! Top-class ride. Raced to a forward position one off the rail within 300 metres. Looked menacing for a long way in straight, but understandibly was unable to match older males at weights.
ZEBRA CROSSING - Ran a 122 FMR. Given a top-class ride; was well placed on rail behind Night Watch, Silverpoint and Winter Solstice; stayed on well in straight, but was unable to get in a meaningful blow. Good run by 3-Y-O.
ALASTOR - ran a 125 FMR. Brilliantly ridden to overcome bad draw. Dropped to rear of field and put in a strong run in straight. Was held at weights.
WINTER SOLSTICE - ran a 125 FMR. From a good draw and under a top-class ride was perfectly placed in close touch in third rail position. Stayed on gamely, but was held at weights.
NIGHT WATCH - ran a 114 FMR. Looked very amped up when pulling hard on way to start. Took a firm hold at the jump and pulled his way to the front. Fought his rider all the way to the straight and understandably was unable to quicken in the drive. This race tells us nothing about his staying ability. Remarkable that he was beaten less than 3 lengths in circumstances.
ILHA DA VITORIA - ran a 120 FMR. Given a top-class ride to overcome bad draw. Dropped to rear of field to save ground on turn and put in a sustained run up straight. Held safe at weights.
TYSON - ran a 120 FMR. Beaten less than 3.5 lengths despite racing very wide in midfield throughout the turn.
THE DECAGON - ran a 112 FMR. Raced in a good position midfield alongside Dunford, but couldn't quicken with every chance in drive.
GREY ARROW - ran a 115 FMR. Would have burnt energy in charging over from a bad draw to rail one off rail on heels of the leader. Could offer nothing more in the stretch.
WESTERN PROSPECT - ran a 112 FMR. Was well enough placed one off rail in midfield. Didn't quicken in stretch.
GANG RELATED - ran a 109 FMR. Was well back in running and showed little in the stretch.
DUNSINANE - ran a 115 FMR. Trapped wide towards rear throughout the turn. Not a bad run by 3-Y-O in circumstances. Apparently returned lame.
JOSHUA'S PRINCESS - ran a 108 FMR. Trapped hopelessly wide from bad draw throughout.
RABIYA - tragically broke down and fell in early stages. Had to be euthanased. Our deepest sympathies to all his connections. A bright light extinguished.
