Last year's champion two-year-old Stevie Wonderboy (Stephen Got Even) will miss the Kentucky Derby. The ruling favourite for the race was found to have suffered a condylar fracture during training, forcing connections to remove him from the Triple Crown.
It has been stated that the colt will make it back to the track later this year but that remains to be seen.
Stevie Wonderboy, who was second to Brother Derek (Benchmark) last time out, won both the Breeders Cup Juvenile (Gr1) and Del Mar Futurity (Gr2) last year prior to winning the Eclipse Award as the best of his age group.
The striking chestnut is from the second crop of Donn Hcp winner Stephen Got Even and hails from the family of Australian Gr1 winner Istidaad (Chief's Crown). His dam, Heat Lightning, sold for $1.1 million at Keeneland's November Sale.
Stevie Wonderboy has won four of his six starts to date.
