A son of Damascus his dam, Numbered Account, was a champion at two.

A top class racehorse, Private Account won six races for the Phipps family. His wins included the Grade One Gulfstream Park and Widener Handicaps. He was also second in the Dwyer Stakes to Coastal.

The sire of 61 stakes winners, Private Account will be best remembered as the sire of Personal Ensign. The filly, also owned by the Phipps', was unbeaten in her 13 career outings. Her most dramatic win came in the 1988 Breeders Cup Distaff where she defeated Kentucky Derby winner Winning Colors. Another of Private Account's daughters, Inside Information, was named Champion Older Mare in 1995. She won the Distaff by a staggering 13 and a half lengths.

One of his best European runners was Chimes of Freedom. A Group One winner at two and three, she is the dam of champion Aldebaran and Grade One winner Good Journey.

Other high class runners sired by him include Whitney Handicap winner, Unaccounted For, Wood Memorial hero Private Terms, Personal Flag and dual French classic winner East of the Moon.
