RACING STRIPES PREMIER

The family comedy movie, Racing Stripes, now on circuit in South Africa, has proved a winner with audiences and for two local charities which benefited by a total of R50 000.

Racing Stripes, a movie about a Zebra with an identity crisis and his farm “family” who help him to realize his dream of becoming a racehorse, was filmed exclusively in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands at the Riverholme Farm at Mooi River and the Scottsville Racecourse in Pietermaritzburg.

The movie premiered at the Ster Kinekor cinemas at Gateway in Umhlanga where Videovision and Gold Circle had 300 invited guests which included local actors and the Moonlighting production company.

Linked to the premier was a charity drive by Gold Circle, the KZN Save The Children and the KZN Horse Care Unit and the outstanding support resulted in R50 000 being raised with R25 000 going to each of the charities.
