Gold Circle is pleased to announce that Mr Ashraf Mohamed was
yesterday elected Chairman of the Western Cape Regional Board.
Mr Vidrik Thurling will take up office as the Region’s Deputy
Chairman. Both posts are being implemented with immediate effect.
Both appointees are highly respected businessmen and are very
active racing personalities.
Mr Ken Truter, the resigning Chairman of the Regional Board,
in handing over the responsibility of office to the new incumbents,
was confident that the work put into the strengthening of the
Western Cape following its amalgamation into Gold Circle early
during 2000 was a sufficient platform to ensure that the region
continued both its growth in terms of turnover achieved and
its contribution to the well-being of the Company in general.
He thanked all his colleagues for their support during his term
of office.
Mr Truter has served racing for more than 20 years and his
four years at the helm of the Western Cape Regional Board was
the maximum period allowed for in the current constitution.
Mr Truter will continue to serve the local Board as an elected
Steward.
