SADDLE UP NEW PROGRAMME ON TELLYTRACK

16 July 2004

A new racing television programme, “Saddle Up”,produced by the Gold Circle television department and focusing on the industry in KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape, is being flighted every Wednesday evening at 7.30pm on Tellytrack.

Unlike the other regular programmes on the channel, Saddle Up will concentrate more on the human interest side of the industry covering all aspects of general interest to the public and racing enthusiasts.

“We are not dealing with the hard core side of racing like what to bet on and that kind of stuff,” said Mr Wayne Belling, television manager of Gold Circle. “We are focusing on aspects of the industry of general interest and where possible of educational value to the racegoer.

“We are covering KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape and the programme enables us to give greater exposure to sponsors and go into greater detail on specific events such as the fashion shows which we could not do before.”

Mr Belling said the programme, which had already been running for four weeks, had received positive feedback and the outlook for the programme was good.

He said members of the public, were welcome to make suggestions for progammes by emailing the television department at the address: tvproduction@goldcircle.co.za.
