Smarty Jones will retire to Three Chimneys in Kentucky at the end of his racing career. The price of his syndication has not been mentioned.
The once beaten colt will continue to race in the Chapmans colours until his retirement.
His owners were keen for the public to continue to have access to the charismatic chestnut.
Smarty Jones has become the most talked about thoroughbred in the USA since winning the Kentucky Derby while unbeaten. He went on to a record breaking 11 and a half lengths win in the Preakness.
A warm favourite to win the Belmont, he was run out of it in the final stages by Birdstone. The chestnut is being aimed at the Haskell Invitational next month. The son of Elusive Quality is out of Smile mare, I'll Get Along.
