Soccer fans in the Western Cape will now be able
to play the “Soccer Pick Six” as the highly popular Soccer 6 bet
that has run in KwaZulu-Natal for some time is introduced to the
region.
The Provincial Legislation allowing TABGold to offer the bet in
the Western Cape region has been passed and is to be Gazetted on
Thursday with the bet being on sale from next week.
The Soccer 6 operates on South African and English soccer and is
essentially a Pick 6 with the result determined by the scores in
six soccer matches.
The bet is a R6.00 straight line. Permutations are allowed but
not fractional betting.
The bet operates on six weekend soccer matches in the United Kingdom
and South Africa and the teams involved in the bets each week will
be published in the Media and on TellyTrack.
The punter is given three options for each match – a win for Side
A, a draw, a win for Side B - and the results are based on the score
at the end of normal play, including extra time, but not on penalty
shootouts.
The Operations Manager for Gold Circle in the Western Cape, Mr
Russell Southey, said the bet would be offered at all TABGold outlets
in the region from Saturday, 25 September 2004.
“We are excited about it. There has been a lot of public interest
in the bet and we have regularly been asked why it was not available
in the Western Cape when it was in KwaZulu-Natal.”
“We believe it will become very popular among the soccer fans and
punters in general in this region.”
