The record breaking Rock of Gibraltar was represented by his first winner on Wednesday when his two-year-old son Steady As Rock won on debut at Pontefract. Steady As A Rock is out of a daughter of Kingmambo and French Gp1 winner Maximova.

Rock of Gibraltar's first crop race this year. He won seven consecutive Gr1 races before suffering an unlucky defeat in the Breeders Cup Mile. The Mile was his swansong and retired to Coolmore the next year. A son of Danehill he is from the family of champion sires Riverman, Exclusive Native and Deputy Minister.
