First Gr1 winner of new season…..
THUNDERING STAR, a R120,000 FORM
BLOODSTOCK purchase at the 2005 NYS, became the first
Gr1 winner of the 2007/08 South African racing season
when he captured the 3200m Cannon Gold Cup at Greyville
on 4 August.
Trained by Mike de Kock on behalf of a
partnership comprising himself, Chris Haynes, Gary Grant
and Chesty and Debbie Wolfaardt, Thundering Star was
selected at the sales by Mike and Jehan Malherbe of Form
Bloodstock.
He is the 20th individual Gr1 winner
selected as a yearling by Form Bloodstock.
