Unbridled Elaine Retired
( by Brisnet)

Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1) winner UNBRIDLED ELAINE (Unbridled's Song) has been retired. The four-year-old filly had been sent to Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital for surgery on an ankle when a problem was detected in another ankle. As a result, she will sent to the breeding shed.

Uinbridled Elaine won the Pocahontas S. at two and captured the Monmouth
Breeders' Cup Oaks (G2) and Iowa Oaks last season. She also finished second
against males in the Pennsylvania Derby (G3) and concluded her career with a
third-place effort in the Falls City H. (G3). Her shining moment, though, was a
head victory in the Distaff at Belmont Park last October.

The gray filly retires with an 11-6-2-1 record and $1,770,740 in earnings.
