Last season’s Horse of the Year, Yard-Arm was given a rating of 118 by the inaugural World Thoroughbred Racehorse Rankings conference. The conference replaces the International Classifications.

Ghostzapper is highest rated at 130. Winner of all four of his starts in 2004, the son of Awesome Again demolished the Breeders Cup Classic field and is likely to be named US Horse of the Year.

Ghostzapper leads another American, Smarty Jones, by two pounds.

Smarty Jones, winner of the Derby and Preakness, leads King George winner Doyen by a pound-Doyen being awarded 127.

The latter despite disappointing in his last two starts, is ahead of both Arc hero Bago and Dubai World Cup/Pacific Classic winner Pleasantly Perfect.

The pair were given a rating of 126.

Unbeaten sprint star Silent Witness was given 123.

The highest rated filly was Horse of the Year Ouija Board. She was given 120.

Yard-Arm, the highest rated horse to run in South Africa, was rated at 118. This puts him on the same rating as Breeders Cup Mile hero Singletary, champion sprinter Somnus and Cox Plate winner Savabeel.

Former de Kock trained Lundy’s Liability was given 115, three pounds behind Dubai based Yard-Arm. Lundy’s Liability is being aimed at the San Antonio.
