The former Met winner, Zebra Crossing, made a winning debut over hurdles at Kempton on Tuesday.
The son of Jallad gamely held off the late charge of the favourite to win cosily in the end. It was a professional disaply from the Met winner, well ridden by Mick Fitzgerald.
It was the first run in over a year for Zebra Crossing. The gelding is now owned by Peter Deal. Zebra Crossing, highly regarded by his trainer, Nicky Henderson, looks to have a bright future over sticks.
