FIRST WINNERS FOR TIGER RIDGE

Tiger Ridge was represented by his winner when Burmese Cat made a winning debut for Mike de Kock. The 2yo colt is out of the Complete Warrior mare Streak To Fame and was bred by the Highflyer Stud. Another Tiger Ridge youngster, the filly Grey Rose, made a promising debut at Kenilworth yesterday when third first time out. She has been entered in the Listed Summer Juvenile Stakes on Met day.

Just over a week later, Tiger Ridge’s daughter Kwacha broke her maiden first time out. She is out of the Silvino mare Danara.

Tiger Ridge, arguably the best bred horse in South Africa, is a proven sire in the USA. He has been represented by 14 stakes winners overseas including the Strike The Tiger (Windsor Castle Stakes), millionaire Leah’s Secret, and the high-class US juvenile Bashert.

Strike The Tiger was the first US trained horse ever to win at Royal Ascot, when he won the Windsor Castle last year.

Tiger Ridge, whose first local crop are 2yos, stands at Wilgerbosdrift for a fee of R100, 000.
