Champ Elysees named horse of the year! |

CHAMPS ELYSEES NAMED HORSE OF THE YEAR Champs Elysees, trained by the late, great trainer Bobby Frankel, was named as Canada’s Horse of the Year for 2009 at a gala evening in Toronto last Friday. The son of Danehill won Canada’s richest race, the Canadian International, before being retired to stud. The son of wonder mare Hasili is a triple Gr1 winner and is an own brother to top European sire Dansili.
The unbeaten Hollinger, a son of South African sire Black MInnaloushe, was named champion 2yo male of the year. The gelding will be aimed at next year’s prestigious Queen’s Plate.
