FIRST WINNER FOR SOLSKJAER
The 2yo filly Giggs became the first winner for her sire, Solskjaer, when running out an easy winner at the Vaal on Tuesday. Solskjaer, who stands at Summerhill, was a smart racehorse. His biggest win came in the prestigious Gr2 Royal Whip Stakes, and he was also second in the Gp3 Meld Stakes. He was rated good enough to make his debut in the Irish 2000 Guineas. By the great sire Danehill, Solskjaer is a half-brother to Yeats, the great stayer who won four Ascot Gold Cups. His dam, Lyndonville, is by Top Ville – also damsire of top sire Montjeu. Solskjaer’s first crop are now two. By Sarah Whitelaw |
