FIRST WINNER FOR STAGE CALL First crop sire Stage Call got off to the best possible start when his first runner, Heart of Arles, made a winning debut. Despite losing ground, the filly produced a good turn of foot to win in good style.
Stage Call, who stands at Arc-En-Ciel Stud, was a very useful racehorse. Winner of the Hopemont Stakes by over 11 lengths, he was also third to world champion racehorse Hawk Wing in the Gp2 Futurity Stakes as a 2yo. He also defeated Breeders Cup Mile and subsequent SA sire Miesque’s Approval in a allowance race. Stage Call has a pedigree to back up his good race record. His sire, Sadler’s Wells, was champion sire 14 times in the UK. His leading sire sons include Montjeu, Galileo, El Prado and champion South African sire Fort Wood. Stage Call’s dam, Humble Eight, was six times stakes winner. This is a powerful family that produced such Gr1 winners and champions as West Wind (French Oaks), Balanchine (Horse of the Year), Art Connoisseur (Golden Jubilee Stakes), and Musical Chimes (French 1000 Guineas). Stage Call will be well represented at the Equimark Vintage Sale. By Sarah Whitelaw
