FIRST LOCAL STAKES WINNER FOR TIGER RIDGE

Top-class sire, Tiger Ridge, was represented by his first South African stakes winner on Saturday when Burmese Cat ran out an easy winner of the Listed Storm Bird Stakes. Tiger Ridge, who has had four juvenile winners already this season, is now the leading first crop sire in South Africa as well as the leading juvenile sires.

Already a proven sire overseas, Tiger Ridge has been represented by such stakes winners as Royal Ascot winner Strike The Tiger and millionaire Leah’s Secret. His son Bashert was one of the best colts of his generation at two.

A half-brother to A P Indy, Tiger Ridge is son of the legendary sire Storm Cat. Tiger Ridge has two lots on the up coming Equimark Vintage Yearling Sale, and he is also well represented at next month’s Emperor Palace’s National Yearling Sale.
