FIRST WINNER FOR OMAHA BEACH

12 May 2023 09:51

Cynane  who won first time out May 11 at Belmont Park became the first winner for Spendthrift Farm’s sire Omaha Beach   and also is the first winner for the freshman stallion class of 2023.

The filly is now raced by partners VinLaur Racing Stables, West Paces Racing, and Rainbow’s End Racing Stable. She is trained by Thomas Morley and was ridden for her debut by Javier Castellano.

Cynane made quick work of her first race, a five-furlong $90,000 maiden special weight on the turf against six challengers. About a furlong from the gate, she had the lead and as she entered the turn widened that lead to two lengths. Cynane never faced a serious threat and was 2 3/4 lengths the best at the wire. The final time was :57.61.

Omaha Beach, a multiple grade 1-winning son of War Front  , was the leader of his class at the 2022 yearling sales with an average of $200,098 and median of $160,000.
