STRADIVARIUS RETIRED

26 Sep 2022 13:14

Stradivarius, one of the greatest Flat stayers of the modern era, has been retired by connections.

The chestnut son of Sea The Stars ends his remarkable career having won 20 of his 30 starts and amassed over £3.4million in prize money (plus the £1million Stayers’ Million bonus on two occasions) for owner Bjorn Nielsen under the guidance of trainers John and Thady Gosden. He won 20 times throughout his glorious career spanning seven seasons, Frankie Dettori in the saddle for 15 of those victories.

The eight-year-old Stradivarius – a three-time Gold Cup winner at Royal Ascot – was last seen finishing a neck second to Kyprios in the Group One Goodwood Cup on July 26 this year.

Out of the Bering mare Private Life, Stradivarius will never be forgotten his legion of fans.
