INTO MISCHIEF -CHAMPION SIRE FOR 2022

03 Jan 2023 12:22

Into Mischief took his fourth consecutive US Champion Sire title by earnings and posted 27 stakes-winners in 2022 – three of them Group I winners over distances ranging from 1100 to 1800m – Life is Good, Wonder Wheel and Gina Romantica.
234 individual winners in 2022 exceed the 221 that gave Into Mischief a record in his first year as champion, albeit not quite matching up to the staggering 261 he clocked last year. (No other stallion has ever hit 200.)
If Into Mischief can avoid a desert ambush-someday a single horse will strike gold in both Saudi Arabia and Dubai to anoint as champion a sire meanwhile discarded to South America-then he must have half an eye on the storied seven-year streak of Bold Ruler himself, now that he has eclipsed the three-year sequences since run up by Tapit (2014-2016) and Danzig (1991-1993).
In total, Into Mischief has been responsible for 119 stakes winners including the Kentucky Derby winners Authentic and Mandaloun.
A son of Harlan’s Holiday and outstanding producer Leslie’s Lady, Into Mischief won three of six starts headed by a score in the G1 CashCall Futurity.
