SENOR BUSCADOR RETIRED

20 Jan 2025 09:23

Senor Buscador , winner of the 2024 Saudi Cup (G1), has been withdrawn from consideration for the Jan. 25 Pegasus World Cup (G1) and has been retired.

Connections had been considering a return trip to Saudi Arabia to defend his title in the $20 million Saudi Cup Feb. 22 before retiring the 7-year-old son of Mineshaft   to stud. That timeline is now expedited as Peacock Jr. confirmed the bay horse’s next step will be heading to Lexington sound. No official stud deal has been announced.

Bred in Kentucky by Peacock Jr. and his father, Joe Peacock Sr., Senor Buscador retires with a record of 7-2-3 from 23 starts, earning $12,944,427.

In addition to the Saudi Cup, he won the 2022 Ack Ack Stakes (G3) at Churchill Downs and the 2023 San Diego Handicap (G2)
