FIRST WINNER FOR BREEDERS’ CUP WINNER

Power Blue became Space Blues first winner on Sunday, 16 March when making all the running over five furlongs at the Curragh. Jumped straight to the front from the stalls, he quickened clear to record a three-and-three-quarter length triumph. 
Power Blue was ridden by David Egan and raced prominently throughout the Castle Star At Capital Stud Irish EBF Maiden, and when challenged by Army Leave he pulled away to win by three and three-quarter lengths, with Army Leave fading to third and Slaney View staying on into second. 
Power Blue is the second runner by Space Blues, whose three Group/Grade 1 victories included the Breeders’ Cup Mile. Earlier on Sunday Amelia made her debut in the Prix du Premier Pas at Lyon-Parilly, the first juvenile contest of the French turf season.  
By legendary sire Dubawi, and from the same female line as his sire, Space Blues won all of the G1 Breeders’ Cup Mile, G1 Prix de la Forêt, G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest, G2 Lennox, G2 City Of York, the valuable 1351 Turf Sprint in Saudi – plus his only start at two
