Noble Tune

Rathmor Stud’s beautifully bred young stallion Noble Tune was represented by his first winner when daughter Awesomely Tuned scored over 1200m at Scottsville on Wednesday.

Bred by Mr Bunwarie, the 2yo filly dug down deep to break her maiden by a length in cosy fashion, winning as the 18-10  tote favourite.

Awesomely Tuned is out of the Cataloochee mare Awesome Beauty.

Her sire Noble Tune, the only son of champion US sire Unbridled’s Song at stud in South Africa, has made a smart start to his stud career. To date, Noble Tune has been represented by six runners –of which five have either won or finished  in the money.

Noble Tune was, himself a top class athlete, who captured graded races at both two and three and who earned nearly $500 000.
His wins included the G2 American Turf Stakes at three, and the G3 Pilgrim Stakes as a two-year-old, with Noble Tune also finishing a fast closing second in the 2012 G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf.

One of more than 100 stakes winners sired by Unbridled’s Song, Noble Tune is out of the stakes winning Storm Cat Serena’s Cat. The latter is also dam of US champion, and Lane’s End sire, Honor Code, as well as last season’s high-class 2yo Declarationofpeace. The latter captured the Qatar Turf Juvenile Sprint to become the third stakes winner produced by Serena’s Cat.

Honor Code, Noble Tune’s half-brother, was a superb runner who was North America’s Champion Older Male of 2015. He won six of 11 outings including the G1 Whitney Stakes and G1 Met Hcp.

Noble Tune’s third dam is US champion and Racing Hall of Fame member Serena’s Song. A daughter of Rahy, Serena’s Song earned over $3 million and was USA’s Champion 3YO Filly of 1995.
